Jewelry Cleaning with Coca Cola
Is your silver jewelry tarnished and not sparkling like it used to? We’ve got a quick and easy fix, if you want to restore the shine. Give this a try. Grab a bottle of Coke, some toothpaste, and a small bowl. Pour some soda into the bowl, and drop your jewelry in. Let it soak for a bit, then dry it off with a paper towel. Next, take a soft-bristle toothbrush and some toothpaste. Polish your jewelry, and watch the dirt disappear. Those bristles can get into all the nooks and crannies of even your most detailed jewelry pieces. See? Good as new. You can do this with rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings. Easy, right?
The To Do List
Add a bit of excitement and fun to your boring to-do list with color printouts, decorative clothespins, some string and a cut box top. First, cut out your pictures. Lay them out. This is just a box top, right? Nope! We’re going to repurpose it. Use an exacto knife to cut off the side of the box top. Stencil out the following on some construction paper: Done, and To-Do. Hot glue the letters to the top of a cork board. Now pull out your craft string. Hot glue the string to the back of the side frame of the cork board. String it around the front and attach the other end to the back on the other side. Now take your box top. You know, the one you cut a section out of, and glue it to the bottom corner of your corkboard. You’ve just made a holder for finished projects. Now use double sided tape to attach the word “done” to the bottom near your holder. Now you can clip your pictures onto your board to give you colorful reminders of your to-do list. When you’ve complete a task, move the picture to the bottom holder. So much more fun than a checklist, don’t you think?
Flat Iron Trick
Your flat iron is not just useful for your hair. Here’s another handy way to use it. For those hard to reach places on your clothes, that a regular iron just can’t reach, you’ve got your flat iron. It can save you in a pinch if you’re traveling and don’t have a big clunky iron with you.
Fresh Mist Facial and Body Spritz
Green tea is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. Rose water can reduce redness, and is excellent at removing oil and dirt from the skin, not to mention it smells great. Just take some loose green tea and some rose petals and place them in a bowl. Tear up the petals to release the scent and activate its properties. Mix them together, and add water. Stir it, making sure to coat all the rose petals and tea leaves. Now we are going to add a cucumber. Cucumbers are high in vitamin C, and also help with inflammation, while hydrating the skin. Peel and dice the cucumber. Put the cut up cucumber into a glass, and squash it up, using a muddler. Now, strain out the juices into a cup. Push it into the strainer to squeeze all the juice out. Now, let’s add your green tea and rosewater to the cucumber juice. Tea tree oil is amazing. Its antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties work to relieve itching, redness, and burning. But never put it directly on your skin as it can cause a chemical burn. Always dilute it, like we are today. Now you’ll need a spray bottle and a funnel. Now you’ve got a travel spritzer to freshen your skin on the go. They sell this at the spa for luxury prices. But you can make your own for way less! It smells fresh and clean.
